According to ideal gas equation,
$$pV = nRT$$ ..... (i)
at constant pressure, $$p\Delta V = nR\Delta T$$ ..... (ii)
Dividing Eq. (ii) by Eq. (i), we get
$${{\Delta V} \over V} = {{\Delta T} \over T}$$ ..... (iii)
But $${{\Delta V} \over V} = \alpha \Delta T$$ .... (iv)
$$	herefore$$ From Eq. (iii) and (iv), we get
For ideal gas $$\alpha  = {1 \over T}$$
So, for an ideal gas, coefficient of volume expansion is given by $${1 \over T}$$.
